ZOOM SCAM WARNING
- We are aware of attempted scams by individuals logging into Zoom court, posing as Public Defenders and sending private messages suggesting someone’s case might be dismissed if a payment is made.
- Please note that no court employees, Public Defenders other Cook County staff will solicit payment through Zoom direct messages or in formats such as Venmo or Cash App., in fact, no Public Defender will solicit any money from you at anytime for any reason.
- If someone purporting to be a Public Defender ever asks you for money, immediately terminate correspondence with that individual, they do not work for the Public Defender’s Office.
