Cook County Public Defender Sharone Mitchell takes questions from WBEZ listeners

This conversation was aired on WBEZ's Say More segment. Listen to the recording here.

Cook County Public Defender Sharone Mitchell told Say More that his office has stepped up to defend immigrants in the face of President Donald Trump’s aggressive deportation campaign. But he said they’ve recently seen an increase of immigration enforcement at courthouses, and that’s prompting people to miss court dates and undermining trust in legal justice.

Say More checks in with Mitchell and he answers questions directly from the public. We also checked in with Congressman Mike Quigley to talk about President Donald Trump's trip to China, the war in Iran and if the DNC should come back to Chicago.
